Opposes:
- the idea that geography should elect American presidents;
- the idea that people in this information age are not informed enough to make their own decisions about a candidate for President;
- our continued failure to adopt a direct democracy here while promoting it abroad;
- the hypocrisy that our country is a beacon of democracy, when in fact it fails to shed the light of the most basic concept of democracy here at home;
- our current, outdated and undemocratic Electoral college system;
and
Supports:
- the idea that only people count;
- election reform in the United States that would do away with the Electoral College and promote direct, ordinal voting; or, at a minimum
- a new, more accurate version of the Electoral College map, indicating election results with colored dots to represent states won by a candidate rather than showing colored-in "blue states" or "red states."
Why? Because . . .
